15th Analysis Skills training course: 4 to 8 December 2017

The Institute for International Criminal Investigations (IICI) will hold its fifteenth Analysis Skills Course from 4 to 8 December 2017. The course will be held at the IICI headquarters in The Hague, The Netherlands.

Applications for this course will close on 15 October 2017.

The Analysis Skills course is designed to equip individuals with the skills required to provide analytical support to the investigation of serious violations of international humanitarian, criminal and human rights law. The course follows the model of the 'intelligence-cycle', the standard process model used by major Governmental and Inter-Governmental agencies worldwide. It is delivered through a combination of theory presentations and practical exercises performed in groups. A detailed and realistic case scenario is developed during the course. As well as providing the raw-material for the practical exercises, the scenario also exposes students to the diversity of information they are likely to encounter in real-life investigations. Students are also provided with the basics of military and para-military organisation, functioning and action relevant to international crime investigations.
Sexual and Gender Based Violence has now been fully integrated into the course, as have aspects of organised crime and financial exploitation of natural resources. This has been done to reflect the reality of life in conflict areas, ensuring that the training experience gained by students is as comprehensive and realistic as possible.

The course fee of €1100 covers all tuition, course materials and lunches during the course.

The Hotel Sebel and Hotel Court Garden, both walking distance from IICI HQ in The Hague, offer reduced rates to participants on IICI training courses.
